And there was more. In this form, the Punto's interior at last had a sheen of quality to it. And the tweaked styling offered something of a return to chic, cheeky looks that were reminiscent of the original. This final 2012-2018-era Punto was a car that needed no apology, no 'Grande' or 'Evo' preface to its name, no desperate dealer offers.
2009 - Grande Punto 1.4 8v. I'm aware there are several other threads on this issue but I can't find a definitive answer to the problem. The alternator had seized so I replaced it with one from a local scrapyard. The alternator was exactly the same as the original. Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review From the picture below it seems the suspension parts (near the wheel) are the lowest point for 173mm G.C. It seems the torsion bar and the underbelly has much more GC than suspension parts, especially as compared to i20.
The latest Fiat Punto (2006-) actually began life as the Grande Punto in 2006, before Fiat changed its name to Punto Evo from 2010 and then went back to plain old Punto following a 2012 update, which included a mild facelift. Fiat launched the final generation in 2005 under the Grande Punto badge before a facelift brought in the Abarth Punto in 2009. The final facelift was in 2012, with Fiat reverting to the basic 2005 design and dropping the Grande and Abarth tags.
