gs0b. Community Leader. 06-25-2021 07:16 AM. As was answered over in DSLreports, you can't buy your own Verizon set-top-box. Any used units you see for sale online were ones that were not returned to Verizon. Verizon will not activate them. You must rent Verizon boxes from Verizon.
This is part of the Channels Plus subscription package that costs $80 per year, but I'd rather pay for that than the equipment rental fees from Verizon. You can not use a Verizon cable box without a Verizon G1100 or later router. Period. These boxes are hardcoded to look for a Verizon router.

Sounds like the system was setup correctly, This is a basic setup. If you wired your mini, you would need a source for coax or ethernet from the Fios router for them.
