Mamma Mia The Movie. The plot of Mamma Mia centres on a mother and daughter tale with Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) about to be married to Sky (Dominic Cooper). The action takes place at Villa Donna on the imaginary Kalokairi island in Greece (set mainly in Skopelos) where Sophie has grown up with her mother, Donna (Meryl Streep).
